Pineau de Charentes - A combination of fresh grape juice and Cognac eau-de-vie, Pineau des Charentes can only be made during the harvest period. Adding Cognac to grape juice prevents the fresh juice from spoiling. Pineau des Charentes is therefore neither a COOKED WINE (Banyuls), nor a FORTIFIED WINE (Port). Its sweetness is naturally provided by the grape juice without the need to add any sulfur!

Pineau des Charentes Michel Forgeron is the result of a blend of several harvests having aged in oak barrels between 3 and 7 years for PINEAU BLANC and PINEAU ROUGE; 10 to 15 years for VIEUX PINEAU BLANC.
